1.1 speaker virtual surround A 1.1 speaker home theater system in a box like those pictured on
this page is a nice solution for many of those who want to entirely
eliminate the need for rear surround speakers and/or don't have
enough space to locate speakers to the left and right sides of
the television screen.
Instead of the 6 to 8 piece
surround sound speaker systems that come with most home theater in a box systems, you only have to worry about the location of two. Although it won't be quite as enveloping as conventional 5.1 surround sound, you'll get to experience virtual surround sound without
speakers taking over the entire room.
The single virtual
surround sound speaker should be located directly above or below
your TV screen. The subwoofer is the other speaker and its
job is to provide the bass. You will probably want to
experiment with sub placement a bit to achieve the best overall
performance, perhaps next to or behind the television, or near a corner. |
